Welcome to the U.S.A

The GO Class of 2025-2026 (21 Students) traveled from their native countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Ukraine) and began arriving in early August at the Chicago O'Hare International Airport and airports near their Host Family through mid-September. Due to a "temporary hold" on the ability to schedule an interview at the U.S. Embassies, the student's ability to obtain their F1 Student Visa was delayed. When U.S. Embassies were granted permission to once again begin accepting requests for Visa interviews, students often needed to request "emergency" dates/interviews and/or reschedule their dates when an earlier opportunity became available and/or travel to another location for their interview. As GO Staff and Volunteers prepared to travel to Summer Camp in the Czech Republic knowing that it would not be possible to hold the Arrival Orientation for the new 2025-2026 GO Students as a class stateside, they eloquently / creatively were able to provide much of the stateside orientation during Summer Camp. The information provided prepared the students for life in U.S.A., i.e., living with an American family, attending an American Catholic high school, participating in the life of their parish and in their community while also getting to know each other - growing together as a class and learning how to be "young, dynamic, Catholic servant leaders". During September, GO Staff/GO BOD Members/Volunteers provided additional orientation materials/information through virtual small group session.

Our deepest gratitude to the GO Staff, GO Alumni, GO BOD Members, and Volunteers who graced our days through your sharing of time, talent, and treasures and made our 2025-2026 GO Class Summer Camp week and stateside virtual orientation/information sharing opportunity a blessed and successful experience.  Thank You!
